Welcome to Sleuth, an iOS app where you can train to be the next great sleuth by solving dark, morbid riddles known as “Black Stories.” Compete with fellow detectives for the top rank.
HOW TO PLAY
The Sleuths get launched into a Riddle Room. The roles are randomized. One would be the Guess Folk and the other would be the Lord. The game is set to last 60 minutes.
Those who attempt to solve the riddle are the Guess Folk. Only yes-no questions can be asked. The solver is the Guess Folk Hero. The individual answering questions is the Lord, or the host.
The Lord will generally answer with “yes” or “no” only. Occasionally, the Lord may have to gently inform the Guess Folk if their questions are irrelevant. It is the Lord’s responsibility to provide recaps of the established points every now and then.
Each significant part of the riddle successfully guessed by the Guess Folk results in a blood chip, or point. A riddle is solved after the Guess Folk writes a solid, coherent, Lord-approved summary on the solution they have uncovered, which is worth a blood chip. Blood chips will then be automatically tallied at the end.
The Lord is always right and always says the truth. There is only one correct solution, and only the Lord is privy to said solution until it is uncovered by the Guess Folk.
GAME ORIGINThe riddles derive from a German card game called "Black Stories" by Holger Bösch. 50 black stories, 31 crimes, 49 corpses, 11 murders, 12 suicides and one deadly meal.
